Mexican insurance from Mexican Insurance Store.com; Doing Laundry in Mexico

Senor Mex says: Upon visiting Mexico for the first time, people are often surprised to learn that most people who live there don’t use dryers. Line drying is a lot more common. What’s even more unusual is the fact that they don’t have laundromats like the ones you’ll find in the U.S. and Canada. In my opinion, the lavanderias, which is what they are called, are a lot better. Instead of washing, drying and folding your clothes yourself, someone else does it for you. They weigh it when you bring it in and charge you per kilo. Rates are really low too because the cost of living down there is really low. Traveling in Mexico is a lot of fun, but you need to make sure to use Mexican insurance from Mexican Insurance Store.com while driving, or you could land in hot water. Mexican insurance from Mexican Insurance Store.com is vital because Napoleonic law dictates you must take “financial responsibility” in any at fault accident in Mexico.

Living Outside of the Box Post

“Most homes in Mexico don’t have a dryer machine for drying laundry. In fact, you can count yourself pretty lucky if you have a washing machine, as well. It depends how affluent you are… But I’ve met many affluent Mexicans who prefer their clothes to be line-dried. They last longer (all of your lint isn’t being sucked out of your clothes in the dryer), it uses less energy…and well…I don’t know why else they prefer it. Yes, your clothes ARE stiffer. Yes, it is more work to hang it out to dry and pull them down.
However, it IS much cheaper (because dryers here use a combination of both electricity and propane gas!).”
