Mexico Auto Insurance Coverage, Don’t Gamble!
Are you a risk-taker? If so, you might like to push the envelope when it comes to obeying the law. That’s not to say that you deliberately break the law; it just means you like cutting corners whenever you can. For example, when traveling to Mexico, you may be tempted to go without Mexican insurance auto liability coverage at a minimum. After all, Mexico auto insurance costs extra money. Besides, it’s not really that important. In reality, going without insurance is one of the worst moves you can make. Find out why that is below.
A Foolish Risk
It’s true enough that you’re not going to be stopped and asked for proof of Mexican insurance auto liability coverage. In general, the cops really don’t care about it. However, when it matters is in the wake of an auto accident. At that point, the authorities will insist on seeing proof of Mexico auto insurance coverage. If you cant give it to them, you will probably be taking a detour to jail. There’s no way around it, and there’s no way to predict when or if an accident will happen, so don’t take a risk!
You Can’t Go Back
Let’s say you decide to drive south of the border without buying Mexico car insurance. You intend on avoiding all accidents. Unfortunately, another driver runs into you, a situation impossible to predict or defend yourself from. Moments after the accident, you’ll realize that you don’t have Mexican insurance auto liability coverage. At that point, it will be too late to go back in time and buy it. When the cops inevitably ask to see it, you will have to tell them that you’re not insured. And then, you’re off to jail. No amount of excuses will make a difference either.
Be Smart
Even if you’re not at fault, you’re required to show proof of Mexican insurance auto liability protection at a minimum in the aftermath of a car wreck. The police really don’t care, even if you are innocent. They need to see proof that everyone involved in the incident can make good on the resulting financial obligations. Unless you plan to carry around thousands of dollars in cash to cover yourself, which is also extremely risky, you’re going to land in hot water. Why risk it? Taking risks can be fun, but it doesn’t pay off in this situation. Mexico car insurance, don’t take a risk!
