Mexican Insurance; Watch Out for Partial Theft and Vandalism!

Senor Mex Says: I’m so glad to see a post about Mexican insurance that clearly discusses partial theft and vandalism. I’m not sure why so many people who are in the market for this type of coverage are surprised to learn that it doesn’t include coverage for vandalism and partial theft. You should never leave valuable items in your car while you are down in Mexico. If you do, someone could take off with them. In that case, your Mexican insurance policy isn’t going to do a thing for you. The same thing is true about most regular car insurance policies too. If someone keys your car, or if some other type of vandalism takes place, you will not be able to file a claim against your Mexican insurance policy, unless you buy Platinum coverage which is offered by Mexican Insurance Store. That’s not what it is there for. It’s there to cover the damages that are caused in an accident, and it’s there to keep you out of jail.TipTravel.info Post

“Car insurance in Mexico excludes both partial theft and vandalism. Vandalism is a clear term and most people know what it is, just remember that it isn’t covered when you go to Mexico. Partial theft may raise some eyebrows. If your radio gets stolen, or your tires are robbed that is partial theft.”
