Comment: We feel this article is incomplete in some ways without checking Mexican insurance resources which is fundamental if you are driving to Mexico on vacation, and what do you think? Is it required? No, it’s not required, but if you are involved in an at-fault accident you will most certainly be detained if you don’t have Mexico insurance from Mexican Insurance Store.com. The author fails to mention that you should choose a carrier who is A-rated by AM Best at a minimum, so you have the best assurance that the claim will be paid, (there are many UNRATED carriers in Mexico) and you should also include legal and bail bond with the coverage.
