When you are thinking of quick border trip, it is important that you get a Mexican insurance policy first. A quick border trip may seem like it is better suited to walking across, especially if you are going to restrict your activities to the tourist areas. While this is true for many visitors, it is helpful to think through your plans as you visit Mexico. Not having your own transportation can impose limitations on where you can go and how you will get there. Mexico insurance from MexicanInsuranceStore.com is affordable, especially if you only need a one-day policy. You can get around more easily and expand your tourist circle, but be sure that you do have appropriate Mexican auto insurance before you cross the border.

Why Not Buy Insurance Coverage in Mexico?

Once you cross the border, you are subject to Mexican laws. This includes the requirement to have Mexican auto insurance online. Even a minor car accident after your crossing could be a problem without your Mexico auto insurance. You may not easily find a source of Mexican car insurance as you enter the country. Even if you do locate a shack or booth, you may have a tough time understanding the product sold is acceptable or the best for your needs. Prior reviews and comparisons and the purchase of your Mexico auto insurance eliminate any worries on the other side of the border.

Is My Existing Mexico Insurance Policy Enough?

Some U.S. and Canada policies will cover physical damage in the border zone. However, you need to be very sure of what that coverage entails and where those boundaries are defined. It’s also important to know that your at-home policy doesn’t meet the standards for Mexican law as it doesn’t cover liability for damages you do to others that might be suffered by a Mexican or US citizen. Your travel without valid Mexican auto insurance online could put you at risk of jail time. This is especially true if got into any significant accident. Mexican law presumes guilt. Traveling without legally required Mexico auto insurance could make your day trip more of an extended stay.

What Other Travel Documents Do I Need for a Day Trip?

Although it is only a day and only the border zone, you do need to have your passport or passport card. Without this, you will not be re-entering the U.S. anytime soon. If you don’t have a passport, don’t cross the border. Wait until you have the correct documents
