As large and exciting as it is, Mexico City is jam-packed with things to see, do and experience. During your first visit to this sprawling metropolis, you’ll probably stick with standard tourist attractions. About the Museum

After taking the light-rail train to the La Noria station, just walk a few blocks south. Dolores Olmedo was a world traveler. She also happened to be friends with some of Mexico’s most famous artists, including Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, whose tumultuous relationship is the stuff of legends. Olmedo donated her belongings and her sprawling hacienda to the city when she died. As it happens, it was filled with treasures. Among the many fine pieces that are located here, you’ll find works by Rivera, Kahlo and other artists, pre-Columbian artifacts and much more.

One idea is to plan your visit to the Dolores Olmedo Museum for the first or last day of your visit. By doing that, you might even be able to drive and park there.
