Senor Mex says: Acapulco is a wonderful vacation destination, but you don’t have to stay there throughout your entire visit. If you have a little extra time, why not head out on a quick little side trip to Zihuatanejo? This gorgeous little town is a nice departure from the very commercialized environs of Acapulco. Don’t mistake driving to Zihuatenejo without Mexico car insurance by Mexican Insurance Store.com, though. It would be best if you were armed with it at all times. What if you’re involved in an accident along the way? Without Mexico car insurance, you could wind up in jail.

“My friend and I are flying to Acapulco mid-January 2009, and we’re planning on renting a car and driving either to Zihuatanejo or to Puerto Escondido. Does anybody have any advice about which drive would be easier? Any specific reasons for not doing one or the other? Ideas about where to get a decent road map?
We drove back and forth from Puerto Vallarta to Zihua last year (900 miles round-trip) on Hwy 200. We spent 2 days in each direction. It was pretty great.”
