What it is: MexicanInsuranceStore.com is an e-commerce site operated by a Perris man that allows consumers to order Mexican auto insurance online. The site also provides information to travelers about the Mexican law enforcement and judicial system.
Special to The Press-Enterprise
What it offers: MexicanInsuranceStore.com offers comprehensive, "full coverage" Mexican auto insurance that can be quickly purchased and printed in minutes. The company specializes in filling the gaps and exclusions found in many Mexican insurance products online and at the border, says owner Linden Gray.
Travelers who wait until they reach the U.S. border do so at their own peril, according to Gray.
"The typical motorist traveling to Mexico has little idea what is really being sold to them, nor if they are getting their money's worth with legitimate insurance," Gray said.
Many people don't realize that Mexican insurance policies often don't cover the rural interior of Mexico in the event of an emergency. MexicanInsuranceStore.com has an exclusive agreement with Assist America, an emergency assistance company that provides medical aid to eligible participants traveling 100 miles or more from their permanent address, student address or in another country.
When it opened: 2002.
Who owns it: Linden Gray.
About the owner: Gray is a veteran of the international insurance industry with more than 29 years of wholesale, retail and direct insurance experience. Previously, he worked as an underwriter for Transamerica and Fireman's Fund. Gray and his staff have a combined 76 years experience providing insurance to people traveling outside the United States.
