Surfing

Without a doubt, the Pacific side of the Baja peninsula is where the best surfing is found. What’s popular now may fall out of favor today, so do some online searches to find out where surfers are heading these days. There are hot spots like Rosarito Beach and Ensenada, but smaller, more out-of-the-way fishing villages often hidden gems as well. If you have the time, simply meander down the coast and check around on your own. You are sure to have quite an adventure, and you should be able to find a wonderful place to enjoy prime surfing too.

Sunning

If you’d like to spend the majority of your time in Baja on a soft, sandy beach, head over to the eastern coast of the peninsula. That side abuts the Sea of Cortez, whose waters are much more tranquil. The east coast is also a lot less rocky, so it has beaches that are better suited for people who just want to lay out and relax. La Paz and the surrounding area may be worth a look. For the best of both worlds, of course, there’s always Cabo San Lucas. It all depends on how far you’re willing to go.

Active Pursuits

If you’d like to squeeze as much adventure as possible into your Baja getaway, you won’t run out of places in which to do so. Stick to the Sea of Cortez for snorkeling and diving. There are many great dive sites all along the coast, so do some research to pinpoint a few of the best ways. Deep sea fishing is huge down in Cabo, so get there if you’d like to catch a real prize. As for hiking and trekking, there are many canyons and mountains in Baja. You can even find cave paintings in many places.

If you have an accident and you’re at fault, Mexican insurance shows you can pay the 3rd party for any damages incurred. I chose this policy because I know I need it. I travel a lot in Mexico for several vacations in a year. With this insurance I can get a claim paid if I have one in the future.
