Mexicos Thriving Eco Tourism Industry - Mexican Auto Insurance!

Located far away from traditional tourist areas, Mexico’s eco-tourism industry is alive with opportunities for travelers seeking to discover Mexico in its natural state. While there are eco-themed attractions and theme parks, in order to see the real Mexico, travelers need to venture to small fishing villages, rainforest-bordering towns and long-standing, remote communities. Remember if you plan to drive to Mexico, you will need to purchase Mexican Auto Insurance because US and Canadian car insurance is invalid. Mexican Insurance is a vital part of exploring Mexico and returning safely. Bird watching in Mexico provides plenty of opportunities to see a diverse range of birds. From roadrunners in deserts, toucans in rainforests and seabirds along coastal areas, birding excursions are popular, country-wide activities. One of the best places to visit is Celestun Beach in Cancun. Here, visitors can enjoy the beach and watch colorful flamingos. Snorkeling provides visitors with a chance to explore a healthy reef and its inhabitants. Puento Morelos’ reef allows divers and snorkerlers to see fish, crustaceans and live sponges in a clear, undisturbed environment. Independent exploration or locally-guided tours are available. Combining bird watching and snorkeling, Punta Allen is the perfect small town, Mexican vacation. This semi-remote fishing village has excellent snorkeling and birding opportunities; especially during the summer. Whether venturing to Punta Allen or another location, consider staying in a small town while participating in an eco-activity. This will give you the chance to observe wildlife during dawn, daytime and evening hours without time and schedule worries. Another small eco-village is San Felipe/Rio Lagartos. Here, many varieties of seabirds invade this town during the summer. Guided boat tours, individual itineraries and local points of interest help make a stay in this town enjoyable. When visiting any destination containing Mexican plants and animals, always remember to leave them in their natural state. Many are protected or have special meanings to Mexico’s native people. Choose your itinerary wisely and whenever possible help offset island transportation and activity costs by traveling with a group. A full boat split several ways will cost less than a single payer boat. Consult local guides for optimal viewing points and inside information. Enjoy Mexico’s best kept secret; book an eco-activity today. To save time and money, review Mexican Car Insurance for more information about quality online Mexico Auto Insurance Policies.

I put this information together with the idea that anyone should be able to enjoy their travel time as peacefully and worry-free as possible. Peace of mind is important, especially while driving in unfamiliar territory. I hope this helps a little toward that goal!

Driving to Mexico? - Problems Experienced by Motorists Buying Mexico Auto Insurance

Mexican Insurance Store has issued a report on the top legal and insurance related problems experienced while driving on vacation in Mexico. Unlike the law in the U.S., in Mexico the assumption of guilt prevails over the assumption of innocence. The penalties for not having insurance while traveling in Mexico can be severe.

Common Mexican Auto Insurance Problems:

1. Not Having Valid Auto Insurance.

U.S. and Canadian auto insurance is NOT recognized in Mexico. Vacationers that don't have auto insurance in Mexico and have an accident may spend many hours or days in jail and have their vehicle confiscated.

2. Not Having Comprehensive Emergency Medical Assistance

Mexico can be a dangerous place to be without adequate emergency medical services. Most U.S. health insurance is not valid in Mexico.

3. Buying Emergency Medical Assistance that is NOT Valid in Rural Areas.

Travelers need to read the fine print in "emergency medical assistance options". In order to save money, insurance companies limit their coverage to major cities of Mexico. Services are provided by third parties sub-contracted with the insurance company. It is important to watch for this because most of Mexico is rural and some insurance policies say they cover it, which is accurate. The policy reads, "we will do the best we can"..So if you need Comprehensive travel Insurance, it's best to purchase a separate policy.

4. Emergency Medical & Travel Assistance with a monetary limit

This is another area where the fine print can not be overlooked. Most policies have a low monetary limit or do not cover pre-existing conditions. Evacuation by air or land can be expensive and is not included in many policies. Costs can reach $100,000 per patient.

5. Not Having Assistance Services for Friends and Family

Don't forget to get coverage for your traveling companions. Ask whether there are restrictions such as up to 4 passengers.

Your Auto Insurance and Travel Insurance Coverage should include:

* Emergency Medical Assistance.

* Emergency Medical & Travel Assistance good for the entire family.

* A minimum US $20,000 in Legal Assistance & Bail Bond.

How to Choose the Best Mexico Liability Limits !

Even among experienced insurance personnel I find confusion reigns on the definition and application of the two types of Liability Limits. I see agents warning buyers to "Beware of Split Limits!", as if you and I might need to wash our hands after purchase.

In reality, this fear tactic is unfounded, as either CSL or Split Limits may be the best choice, because it all depends on the actual amount of the limits, not simply how they are applied in a covered loss.

Combined Single Limits (CSL) Limits of $50,000 or $100,000 apply to either Bodily Injury OR Property Damage. In other words, the maximum the insurance company will pay for covered damages that have been deemed to have been caused by you  (your fault) is $50,000 or $100,000. The loss can be all Bodily Injury or all Property Damage or any combination of the two, but the maximum amount covered is $50,000 or $100,000 depending on the amount of coverage you purchase.

Split Limits such as $100,000 bodily injury per person/$300,000 bodily injury per accident/$100,000 property damage means that the insurance company is obligated to pay up to $300,000 in bodily injury claims (depending on how many persons are injured & the extent of their injuries) AND up to $100,000 in property damage claims.

So Insider fans, hypothetically, which would you rather have,
A.
$50k CSL or B. Split Limits of $50k per person/$50k per accident/$50k Property Damage? (My preference at the bottom)

TIP: We recommend a minimum limit of $50,000 Property Damage in case you knock heads with someone elses brand new SUV.

Customer Corner

The # 1 Reason Why It's Better To Cross the Border and Forget About Mexican Auto Insurance Is Because.... you already have it!

We asked one client what he thought of buying insurance at one of the booths along the border. This was his reply:

"Most people plan their vacation, then forget all about insurance until they cross the border... then they proceed to buy insurance at the nearest seller. This is the equivalent of buying your groceries at a convenience store: no matter how well you shop, you're going to pay too much, and your options will be limited, too. You don't even have the option of researching those insurers that vend at the border, and who knows how strong their grasp of the english language is going to be. Its better to buy it before you leave."       Current Client (Copied with permission)

Preference: B because I would have $50K BI AND $50K PD, a maximum of $100,000 protecting against loss versus $50k to protect against all potential loss in A.
