Mexican Insurance - Lodging in Mexico: Look before You Book!
Many travelers are used to the amenities and conveniences afforded to them when traveling throughout the U.S. or other developed nations. While Mexico is a highly sought after tourist destination, not all Mexican hotels are the same. When booking a hotel, in addition to checking the hotel’s star rating and reading other travelers’ reviews, be sure to go online and research the hotel yourself.
Remember if you are driving pack a Mexican Insurance policy purchased online before you leave if you are driving in Mexico. If no hotel website is available, call and find out the answers to these important questions.
Question #1 – Does the hotel have air conditioning? Sometimes, people take for granted the fact that air conditioning is not a standard amenity. It is important to find out your prospective hotel’s coolness; or lack thereof. This is important to travelers looking to stay in comfort, as well as those who are asthmatics or have breathing difficulties. A good rule of thumb is many popular chain hotels will have air, while smaller, independent ones and haciendas will not.
Question #2 – Does your hotel accept credit cards? This may seem like a silly question, but it is a valid one. Large, chain hotels will usually accept credit cards but smaller ones usually will not. This means you will have to carry exchanged cash or travelers’ checks (ask if these are accepted as well). If wandering around Mexico with large amounts or cash does not appeal to you, or if you prefer to make payments on your vacation; stay at a hotel that accepts your type of credit card.
Question #3 – What type of amenities does your hotel offer? All hotels in Mexico offer varying amenities. Some provide nothing, while others offer deluxe recreation choices including: fitness centers, swimming pools, tennis courts and spas. If amenities are important to you, be sure to inquire regarding their availability before booking your stay.

What it is: MexicanInsuranceStore.com is an e-commerce site operated by a Perris man that allows consumers to order Mexican automobile insurance online. The site also provides information to travelers about the law enforcement and judicial system.

Linden Gray, of Perris, owns a Web site that sells insurance to people traveling to Mexico. He says insurance sold at the border doesn't cover everything.
What it offers: Comprehensive, "full coverage" Mexico insurance that can be quickly purchased and printed in minutes. The company specializes in filling the gaps and exclusions found in many programs online and at the border, says owner Linden Gray.
Travelers who wait until they reach the U.S. border do so at their own peril, according to Gray.
"The typical motorist traveling to Mexico has little idea what is really being sold to them, nor if they are getting their money's worth with legitimate coverage," Gray said.
